I really wanted to give this yarn a quick review for the blog, while I work on the free sweater pattern using it.
Price: £10.00 per 100 gram hank
Details: Knit By Numbers is an innovative range of Double Knitting, 100% Merino yarns. Available in 100g hanks and over 85 different shades, with a constantly growing colour selection. It is worsted spun in our Exmoor mill in an innovative colour palette that aims to provide designers and knitters the precise shade they require.
Each colour range is available in 6 shades - ranging from dark to light. Each colour is given a unique number reference, rather than a name, hence the range being called Knit By Numbers.
Double Knitting, 100% Merino.
250 meters per 100 grams
24 stitches and 31 rows = 4"
3.5 mm needle
hand wash at low temperature with mild detergent
Review: I purchased 3 skeins in a graduation of one colour; Dark - KBN 22, Mid - KBN 23 and Light - KBN 24. Each lighter is blended with white to create the lighter shade and so it was really great to see that these had all be well blended without huge burrs of original colour that would throw out my design.
The stitch definition was great too, giving a sturdy but soft fabric.
The twist in the yarn is perfect... no splitting and so changing my circular needles for longer cables to try it on as I went, meant that I didn't damage the yarn.
I'm yet to wear the garment as it's too warm here now, but I think it will stand up to washing and wearing... and so I recommend giving it a go!
