Back in May I last mentioned this sweater and the yarn I had chosen.
To be honest I thought it would have been a much longer process to document, but I just couldn't put it down... a testament to the yarn, but also my sweater mojo recently.
So last time you had seen me knit just the neckline and beginnings of the sleeves... as this is my own design I had to do a bit of tinking back here and there to get the fit I liked.
The armholes proved the most challenging as I had to knit almost to the bust to get a true idea of whether my underarm cast on was right... as you can see it was not!
Far too much fabric... tink back...
I felt much better with this. It sits well at the shoulder too.
From here it was really all about how I chose to graduate my yarn colours...
I've had many of you comment on my Instagram feed that you would love to see me write up a pattern for this sweater... yes, I can do that... but I'm going to be honest this will be a recipe knit and not a fully graded pattern... a bespoke knit that requires you to do maths for your sweater and body shaping. I'm doing this for two reasons; firstly my bust is disproportionate to my size and so grading would not be perfect for all. Secondly, I think the design would fit much better as a custom fit to your body.
Keep an eye out on the blog for more details.
Have a wonderful day... Sara x
