|Barber Pole base in colour Silver.|
This is my wonderful new yarn base... BARBER POLE.
Now if you are a spinner, you will understand the reference perfectly... Barber Pole colourations mean at least one of the plies of the yarn is different to eth rest. Here that is the case in a tonal sense.
How is this made? Well one of the plies is a superwash Merino, whereas the other two are non-superwash Merino... as these take the dyes differently, you get a barber pole effect.
Due to the delicate barber pole effect I will only have this available on my Semi Solid colourways. I just feel that variegated colours will overpower the design of the yarn.
This base is available in two weights;
4ply (100% Merino, 400m/437.4y, needles 2.5-4mm @ £14.50 per 100g skein)
Double Knit (100% Merino, 225m/246y, needles 3.5-5.5mm @ £14.50 per 100g skein)
It has a bouncy hand feel and is a heavier 4ply weight because of this.
I'm going to be knitting up this skein in colour Silver and so I can show you how it knits up as I go.
