If you watched the last podcast you will have seen me talk about this and how I adored knitting up this pattern; Gilet court d'été by Marie Adeline Boyer.
Well it's true I really did enjoy this. It was easy enough for TV knitting, which suits me right now and the variation in my own hand dyed yarn gave me just enough interest.
I can see this working in hand spun as well as naturals... in fact I'm going to make one for my mother's birthday out of some Hayward yarn I bought from John Arbon Textiles.
I think I could also recommend this to a beginner sweater knitter, or a knitter wishing to learn to use circular needles for the first time. The pattern really is easy enough to follow and could certainly be adapted to have sleeves. The other great thing about knitting top down, means that you can bespoke fit your garment as you knit, which is a boon.
What is your favourite sweater pattern to knit, which one would you recommend to beginners?
Have a wonderful day... Sara x
