Almost this time last year, I purchased a couple of skeins of Debbie Bliss Donegal Luxury Tweed Aran Yarn in colour Charcoal... I wanted something luxury to make a hat or two with.
The first hat I made I have been wearing to death lately, so I thought it was about time I gave you a review of this beautiful bunny soft yarn.

I cast on for the Kami Hat by Katie Schumm on Ravelry. Now this is a hat I had knit twice at this point... one went to my post lady and one was knit from hand spun for Darrin... time for something for me.
The yarn knit up fast, with good stitch definition despite the angora halo. It also wears very well, it doesn't over stretch so you can wear the hat for some time before it needs to be washed to help relax the elasticity for a good fit again. It also has a good drape on the 5mm needles I used, so I should imagine it would make a lovely garment.
I did find I had a slight allergy to the angora, but this was quickly eliminated by taking allergy precautions (tablets and on very rare occasions a face mask - that's die-hard dedication and the sign of a particularly beautiful yarn) and is something I am used to having to do with angoras, mohairs and alpacas. My particular allergy is in the manipulation of knitting the yarn, leading to stray fibres in the air... I don't have handling or wear allergies... in fact I adore the softness of this yarn... I adore it! So I mention this just in case you have had previous angora issues.
The colour choices of this yarn I think are perfect for the wintery/autumnal weather in which you are most likely to wear such a yarn... and let's face it, it's the time when a nice bit of luxury makes the horrid weather a distant thought for a while.
I have one skein left and am currently pondering what it should become... what do you think? Another hat?
Have a wonderful day... Sara x
