I say my first socks, but this isn't technically true. I have cast on before, once or twice and have never got past the ribbing. Ooooo, probably two years ago I started my first pair... Firstly I tried 1 x 1 ribbing (which I loathe not the look, but the making) and double pointed needles... this was not for me. So I cast on again with 2 x 2 ribbing and two circular needles.... this gave me a horrible stitch stretch at each edge. After this attempt I gave up... socks where mot for me.
I'm not sure what gave me the urge to knit a pair this time around? Maybe it was the wool, the book, or the endless knitting podcasts I watch... but I had an urge.
I'm using 7 Stitches per Inch Sock by Ann Budd, from her book Getting Started Knitting Socks By Ann Budd. I decided on a magic loop method using Bamboo needles. Here are my Ravelry details so far;
