So I set about dyeing Teeswater (I'm sure customers eat the stuff, lol!) in Fall Leaves for the shop www.sarastexturecrafts.com and I find I've had the most interesting morning... I decided to close my Amazon shop. It did well to start with, but because of the way the Seller dashboards are set up it has become all too easy for larger suppliers to come in and undercut. So sales have dwindled, margins lowered and Amazon fees increased. It became an expense to have a shop there... But as this was a sideline selling knitting books mostly (and I'm out of stock) I decided I needed to refocus and concentrate on the wool supply and the new plans I have for 2013 (see next podcast episode 16 due November at www.dreaminginfibre.blogspot.com ). This action seemed to trigger some exciting events!
Firstly an email regarding a new year workshop, which is exactly what I want to be getting into where I can. Then I had a lead from a local farmer with some more Wensleydale fleece... Fantastic, as I'm out of raw fleece to dye! And then finally I got myself on the list to be contacted for a large show based in Exeter in September.
So a small step towards my plan for 2013... The year of 'Self Esteem (beta test)' and 'Thou shalt have a bit of self confidence (beta test)' things seem to be moving forward at an interesting pace.
So if you hear faint pitter-patter... It's not the rain, it's my little happy dance!
I wish you all an exciting and successful day,
Sara x
