WOMEN’S INSTITUTE CRAFTS DAY

Saturday 12 February 2011, 11am - 4pm

FREE ENTRY

Join this fun family day and learn new and traditional craft skills

Join this special day to celebrate the crafts activities of The Women's Institute.

The Women's Library holds the archives of the National Federation of Women's Institutes which were catalogued and made accessible to the public in 2004.

This day will bring together members of the WI from different federations to provide a historical context to the WI's crafts programme, and the role that the WI has played in saving traditional crafts. It will also demonstrate some of the contemporary work of the WI and provide an opportunity to learn more with stalls, displays and demonstrations including patchwork quilting, knitting, lacework and rug ragging.
