I love the look of Summer but unfortunately spend a good deal of time hiding from it... I can suffer terribly easily with sun stroke and heat exhaustion. So you'll often see me under a large hat, a little bigger than the one I'm sporting in the photo and often with an iced drink (or ice cubes wrapped in a flannel attached to my head somehow! Honestly the things you will try!!)
I've always been like that, even as a child I was the first one to cover up and leave the pool on holiday... I fair much better in the Spring or Autumn. I try never to let that stop me though and take as much time out as I can afford, as often this is the more quiet part of the year. This year that hasn't really been the case, I found myself working a couple of fibre shows and trying new things with the business, but as you can see D and I did manage an afternoon at Lyme Regus this week... shortly after I picked up my very first spinning wheel! So it's not all that bad!!It's a bank holiday weekend here from tomorrow, so 3 days off... yay! Where else can I go?! Quick D, get that map out!!

Cute photo! Hope you find somewhere nice to go this week to round off the end of the season! Interesting that you don't like the heat and now work a lot in felt - a good cool weather material.
I was going to say, you didn' t take many days off so far this summer! Fairs here and there!
You remind me of my mom who is very very white, red hair and full of freakles and always hiding from the sun and heat...which is rather difficult in southamerican where summer lasts months and months and temps are normally between 30-40C...
Anyway, at least you have your spinning wheel! yay!
I really sympathise, sun stroke and heat exhaustion are no joke...Have a great weekend off Sara!! xxx
Oh! Come on! Don't tell us you don't have any more photos of your "dirt patch"!
I bet it's gorgeous by now.
I'm the same > Hat, sun-tan cream and then more sun-tan cream. Seen too many young people who look triple their age especially living under the harsh african sun.
I hope you enjoyed your long weekend. :)
Hi Ladies... sorry I'm so late with my reply. First day back after the weekend and it's fortunately been a bit busy.
Darrin took me to Wookey Hole in Somerset... I'll tell you all soon.
And Agathe... I'll get a garden update for you as soon as I can... a lot has been harvested and eaten!
Sxx
You've been so busy! Hope your few days off were fun packed but relaxing xx
I totally get the heat thing - give me winter almost every time.
ps - your word verification reads 'bothel'. Yes...I misread it...xx
Sorry I'm here so late! Just trying to return to normal x
